ONNECTIONS C SPRING 2025 R I T T E R P U B L I C L I B R A R Y Hello again! Your friends at Ritter Public Library hope to find you happy and healthy as we look forward to warmer weather and sunny days ahead. In the short time that I’ve been at the Library, I’ve learned so much about what makes Vermilion so special, but the thing that has stood out to me the most is the compassion and generosity that abounds within the community. We at Ritter Public Library are lucky enough to see it in action every day through the all the ways, big and small, that you support our Little Free Fridge. For those who don’t know, the Little Free Fridge (LFF) is a community effort within the walls of the Library to help address food insecurity and provide immediate relief to those in need. The LFF, which is discreetly accessible during all operating hours, consists of two refrigerators, a freezer, and a pantry stocked with an assortment of food staples. The amazing part is that it is supported by donations from the community. This winter, the response has been overwhelming. Not only have community members continued to provide essential food items, the donations have allowed the LFF to expand to include coats and winter wear for those in need. We welcome you to stop by so you can see the community’s good work in action. You can even check out a book or two and pick up some information on our wonderful programs while you’re here. Don’t forget to say hello, and see you soon!
