Voices of Vermilion is a new oral history initiative designed to capture, preserve, and share the memories, experiences, and perspectives that make Vermilion unique. Through recorded interviews, Ritter Public Library will build upon other local history initiatives within the community by collecting stories from longtime residents, veterans, business owners, community leaders, and everyday people whose voices help tell the story of our city.
These recordings will become part of a growing digital collection, preserving local history for future generations while creating new opportunities for community engagement, access, and discovery.
Future plans include community listening spots, partnerships with local organizations, and interactive experiences that connect people with Vermilion's rich history.
