Upcoming Changes to Large Format Printing
Thanks to generous funding from the Ritter Public Library Endowment Fund, we have made upgrades to our Makerspace including new equipment and furniture. Along with this, we are expanding our service offerings to make the space more open and available to the public.
We have three ways to engage with the new Makerspace:
- Attend a Maker class to learn how to use the equipment. All classes are published on our event calendar. (Expect to see more added to our summer calendar soon!)
- Attend Open Studio hours to have open access to the space & equipment on a first-come, first-served basis. These hours will be staffed so that we can supervise the equipment use and coach users.
At this time, Open Studio hours are: Tuesdays 5-8PM, Fridays 10AM-1PM, and Saturdays 2-5PM. Registration is not required, however you may register to get a text message reminder and to help give us a heads up on how many people will be attending. - If you complete an orientation session, you may book the room for independent use any time the library is open and the Makerspace is not in use for something else. Equipment use will be self-directed, and staff will only be available in case of emergency. If you would like to schedule an orientation session, please reach out directly to Chloe Browne at 440-967-3798 x6413.
In order accommodate these changes, we are retiring our current Large Format Printing appointments as well as the option to submit files online for printing by our staff. The last day for both of these services will be May 1st, 2026. We hope that the new offerings will be sufficient to meet your Large Format Printing needs.
Thank you for your patience as we roll out these new services. We look forward to introducing you to our new Makerspace, and hope to see you here at the Library soon!
Print Submission Instructions:
Complete the form below to request your prints and send us your files. You may request up to 10 linear feet of prints per week. The current cost is $2 per foot of length (rounded up to the nearest foot), regardless of the chosen material. Both cash and card payments are accepted at the main desk.
Lead times depend on current demand and staffing levels. Staff will contact you when your prints are finished. Finished prints must be picked up and paid for within 1 week of completion. If you need your prints on a deadline, we recommend instead scheduling an appointment to ensure they are ready on time.
The printable width of the material is about 28". You can print as long as desired in the other dimension.
Staff can scale or crop your design, but the final dimensions will depend on the aspect ratio (proportions) of your design. Please ensure that your design is sized properly for the material and for your purpose.
For example, if you would like to print a 5-foot banner that uses the full width of the material, the size of your design should be 60" x 28". A banner of this size would cost $10.
The machine can cut out shapes. If you are printing stickers or window clings, staff will place a cut line on your design. If the cut shape is complex (more complicated than a rectangle or circle), please supply your design as a PDF file with the layers preserved. It is not necessary to arrange your stickers in sheets - the machine will nest the design to minimize material waste depending on how many copies you request.
We are prohibited from printing images subject to copyright. Designs must be self-created or used with permission.
